Norway's big hopes

Norway has several strong athletes competing at the European Championships. Sander Skotheim is one of them and he has big expectations for the decathlon.

Skotheim will go through five new events to determine the decathlon. After 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, and shot put, the competition will end with 1500m at 22:10.

Henriette Jæger wins a medal of the best value on her favorite event 400 meters. The first hurdle is the semifinal (at 13:45). She goes directly to the semifinal as one of the twelve highest ranked athletes in the event.

Norway's big disappointments

There are also some big disappointing performances from Norwegian athletes at the European Championships. One such case is Ingebrigtsen who cannot qualify for the final of 5000 meters.

Ingebrigtsen is with the 5000-meterfinal starting at 21:40. Brother Filip Ingebrigtsen, Andreas Fjeld Halvorsen and Magnus Tuv Myhre are the other Norwegian athletes on the start.

The women's final in Birmingham starts at 22:33, while the men's final ends EM at 22:48.
