The Norway national football team is taking the USA by storm. Patriotism is running wild, and the Norwegian «ro-ropet» is one of the most banal things supporters have come up with in a long time.
What's happening in the USA?
Norway and Norwegian fans have been cheering and celebrating both on and off the field so far in the World Cup. Times Square is one of the most impressive places in the world, and on Sunday, it was completely dominated by Norwegians.
How are foreigners reacting?
Foreigners seem to love the Norwegians and the enthusiasm they put into supporting their national team. They joined in the celebration, and it was almost impossible to get through as Norwegians shouted supporter chants and sang «Ja, vi elsker» so loudly that it could be heard all over Manhattan.
How much does it cost to follow the World Cup?
It's naturally sad that football is so expensive. It takes offensive budgets for those who want to follow the World Cup from the stands. 4000–5000 kroner for an average ticket to a football match is unfortunately too much, even if the stands are filled up in one World Cup match after another.
What's next?
Now we're hoping for a win over Senegal. Then we'll see how far this takes us. There are some who don't like it, but football will steal the attention in the coming days - and maybe weeks.
